Buena Vista: Future looking good for Tokay's Dylan Waugh

Dylan Waugh's future is looking good. The two-sport athlete recently signed
to play baseball and soccer at Buena Vista University, a small Division III
school in Storm Lake, Iowa.

"I chose (Buena Vista) because it's a great school," said Waugh, who visited
the lakeside campus during a school break last October after researching
colleges on the Internet.

Players working for Next Level Play

Over this past weekend, Feb 20-21, 2010, 6 players from our club's U17 boy's team attended the Highlander ID Camp hosted by UC Riverside. This was a two day event that included 3 training sessions with head coach Junior Gonzalez. The level of soccer was very high including +30 players from clubs all over Southern California such as San Diego Surf and Arsenal FC. This was a great experience for the boys in that they were coached by a Division 1 College coach and exposed to high quality training and facilities.

Elk Grove Everton FC honors their Academic All Americans!

On, January 28, 2010, the Elk Grove Everton Football Club honored 66 players as Academic All Americans in the second year of the program.  The program was implemented to reinforce the concept that the club participants are students first and athletes second.  It encourages the players to balance the responsibilities of school and home, with the extra-curricular activities of soccer.  To qualify for this honor, the players were required to hold a 3.5 GPA during the soccer season which lasts from 10-12 months long.  They are required to have good citizenship and needed to

U-13 GIRLS ADVANCE TO STATE CUP FINALS

After a successful opening State Cup weekend in Hanford, the EGEFC U-13 Girls had a tremendous weekend in Morgan Hill February 6th and 7th. In their Round of 16 game on Saturday, they faced a tough Mustang Freedom side that came out extremely strong, playing with heart and great confidence. As the girls from Elk Grove found their stride, they took control of the game on their way to a convincing 4-1 victory.
